On Saturday, February 11, from 1 PM to 5 PM, the DRA will be hosting our first-ever gathering at Portland’s Ecotrust Building. In addition to the premiere of the DRA’s new documentary film, a live auction will be held featuring 13 unique items assembled just for this event. We’ll also be holding a raffle, with five fantastic prizes. Here’s the full list of items to be auctioned and raffled!
Live Auction Items
Item 1: A Day on Mt. Hood’s Salmon River Studying its Insects with Rick Hafele and Mark Bachmann
Donors: Rick Hafele, Mark Bachmann, and Dick and Kathy Bushnell
Date: June 10, 2017
12 people with spots individually auctioned at $150 each
Trout have an uncanny ability to humiliate fly anglers by chowing down voraciously on every insect that floats, while ignoring the offerings of the angler. The ability to identify specific insects is KEY to increased angling success. Learn to match the hatch and you have the magic formula to every river in the west.
Here’s a chance to sharpen your insect identification skills and fly pattern selection by spending a day on Mt. Hood’s Salmon River with bug gurus Rick Hafele and Mark Bachmann.
Item 2: An August Steelhead Day Below Maupin with Marty & Brian
Donors: Brian Silvey & Marty Sheppard
Dates: Early to mid-August, mutually agreeable day

It’s just that they started young, paid their dues, and now are recognized as two of the Deschutes’ best, most knowledgeable, and hardest-working guides.
Four anglers will join Brian and Marty for a full, dawn-to-dusk day of steelhead fishing on the Deschutes River near Maupin in early to mid-August.

Well, here’s a steelhead trip that puts you on the reservation side of the river and lets you sample for a full day the 39 miles of unspoiled and little-fished water.
Elke and Alysha Littleleaf will be your native hosts and guides for your special day on the Native side of the Deschutes.

Donors: Nick Rowell & Michael McLean
Date: April 2017, any mutually agreeable day

Keep your fly in the water and hold on tight!
Four anglers will join guides Nick Rowell and Michael McLean for a day on the water in pursuit of all three species.
