Diane Bell is a well-known Vermont artist with Oregon roots. She has created this painting specifically for the DRA Auction and Gathering.


102. Gemstone Labradorite and Sterling Silver Necklace with Matching Earrings.

Artist and jewelry maker Sandy Japely designed and hand-crafted this 24” necklace and matching drop earrings.  Constructed of 8 millimeter rondelle-shaped gemstones and sterling silver, with a sterling silver and gemstone box clasp.


103. Hand Crafted Glass Mosaic Mirror

Glass mosaic mirror, 14-1/2” X 12”, hand-crafted specially for the Deschutes River Alliance auction.  The multi-media art piece includes red-tone, black-tone and clear mottled art glass, round Ching-dynasty-era Chinese coins, and chopsticks which were advocated for use by Confucius to reflect gentleness and benevolence, the main moral teaching of Confucianism.


104. Handwoven Willow and Driftwood Basket

Donor: Carol Horvath

Depending on the size and intricacy, Carol Horvath’s display baskets sell from $300 to $1,000 and are veritable pieces of art. The organic willow she uses is specially grown in Amity, OR, and she personally collects and selects the driftwood from Oregon’s beaches. Carol has been weaving baskets for over 20 years and teaches basketry for the Columbia Basin Basketry Guild.


105. Original Painting by Maupin Resident and DRA Supporter, Suzanne Knapp

Suzanne has been involved with art in some way throughout her life, but it was when she retired from the State of Oregon and moved to Maupin and the Deschutes River canyon that her art interest really took off. The Deschutes River canyon is her focus and watercolor is her media of choice.  Her artwork is shown annually at the Maupin Market in mid to late summer, and artwork cards are sold there and at The Dalles Art Center.


106. Museum Quality Print of N.C. Wyeth Painting in Antique Frame

Donated from the personal collection of a Portland antique dealer, this museum quality print is entitled “News from Home.” The piece was painted by N.C. Wyeth in 1915 with the original now residing in the Minnesota Historical Society. The print is newly and professionally matted and rests in an antique frame that represents much of the value of the item.

The box includes 36 dozen caddis dry flies, representing 32 different patterns in all sizes appropriate to the given pattern. All the primary color variations of each pattern are covered. There are plenty of each pattern and its appropriate sizes to break off fish after fish and still keep fishing or fish the same hatch day after day for quite a few days.

This vintage Hardy reel has been out of production for a good while and there aren’t very many of them come on the market. The reason is that the Hardy St. John is a made to last and fish forever. And, they are cool. This version has some surface wear, meaning that it happily has been fishing for decades. It pays line perfectly and merrily chirps that classic Hardy click, both forwards and backwards.

Four people take a tour of the lower Deschutes with Forrest Foxworthy and his jet boat. You will navigate a few of the best rapids the Deschutes has to offer, look for sheep on the rimrock, and learn about the geologic formations on the Deschutes and the history of the lower river.
